Grand Re-Opening of the La Ribera Park

On May 18th, the community of La Ribera celebrated the long-awaited opening of their newly remodeled town park, thanks to the joint effort of Costa Palmas and construction companies that work for the development.

The official inauguration was attended by Lic. Miguel Mijares, Municipal Delegate of La Ribera; Mrs. Lucía Trasviña, Ribereña and friend of Costa Palmas, Representative for Baja California Sur in the LXV Legislature; Prof. Oscar Leggs Castro, Municipal President of the Honorable XIV City Council of Los Cabos; as well as directors of Costa Palmas, among whom were Gabriel Estrada, Director of Development and Construction of Costa Palmas; and Jorge Herrán, Director of Operations.

“We are witnessing the hard work of Costa Palmas, multiple other businesses, and the Delegation, on behalf of society. We welcome economic development but, most importantly, we welcome social development", commented Prof. Oscar Leggs Castros. And continued: "Welcome, Costa Palmas as a socially responsible company. Thank you for all your support for the community of La Ribera”.

This work reinforces the commitment of Costa Palmas to improve the quality of life of the community and to promote the well-being of the families of the East Cape.

Exciting additions to the park included:

  • Fresh coats of paint
  • A rebuilt bathroom
  • Cistern maintenance
  • New cement block walls to retain sand and make it more comfortable for playing
  • New lamp posts and lights
  • A large shade structure to encourage year-round playing
  • A sitting area with new tables and umbrellas
  • An updated BBQ area
  • New torotes and bougainvillea trees

 

After the official speeches, and proudly representing all kids of La Ribera, Adilene, Neimar, and Jade, cut the ribbon, and they toured the park to see the new enhancements.

This achievement adds to the efforts of Costa Palmas for the development of children and the community, which have been maintained for more than a decade. To date, numerous actions have been implemented to promote education, welfare, and culture in the locality; as well as the care and protection of the environment.

The community is very excited to enjoy their new-and-improved park and many families have already reserved the space for upcoming birthday parties, family gatherings, and celebrations.
